The parent-controlled speed settings flatten the learning curve, making it the ideal introduction to electric vehicle play and helping kids develop the skills, confidence, and coordination that come with it.

August 30, 2023 – On your mark, get set, go! Your kid’s first go kart has arrived! Razor USA, the leading innovator of scooters and wheeled goods, announced today the introduction of the all-new Ground Force Rad Rod, a small-sized electric-powered go kart for younger riders (6+) and the latest product in Razor’s Ground Force line. The Rad Rod is the smallest addition to the line-up, joining the mid-size Ground Force and larger Ground Force Elite. Its peak performance, agile drifting ability and parental speed control switch make it a perfect introduction to powered play for kids. Razor had the family in mind when creating the Ground Force go-kart series with compelling and age-appropriate options for children, tweens and teens, and they are excited to add the Ground Force Rad Rod to the crew.

Ian Desberg, Razor’s Vice President of Design and Development, commented, “The Rad Rod’s unique style pays homage to the classic garage-built ‘rat rods’ with its unfinished look and lowered hot rodstance.  That design influence led us to make other inspired choices including adding grippy front wheels, slick rear wheels for drifting, and a hand-operated, paddle-style accelerator and brake that allows high-performance maneuvers including powerslides and burnouts.”

The Ground Force Rad Rod can be tailored to individual riders’ abilities and comfort levels, using the top speed limiter switch which allows parents to choose the right maximum speed for their child: 10 mph (16 km/h) in the “HIGH” setting or 7 mph (11.3 km/h) in the “LOW” setting. The rechargeable 24V sealed lead-acid battery system provides up to 40 minutes of continuous use and the quiet 150-watt chain-driven motor enables at-home karting fun. The compact construction is great for small riders and makes the Rad Rod easy to store and transport.

Razor prides itself on offering high-performance, high-quality wheeled goods to the mass market at affordable prices. The complete Razor collection includes classic kick scooters, electric scooters, hoverboards, go-karts, minibikes and more, bringing the fun of outdoor play to people of all ages.

The Ground Force Rad Rod will be showcased at Toy Fair New York 9/30 to 10/3.
